How to Celebrate Fourth of July Like a Local

July 02, 2018

You can do the usual firework display on the beach, or try something zestier! This year, stay on shore with the land-dwellers instead of oceanside with the sea-drifters. Join festive Upper Keys locals for a patriotic cheer fest at the Key Largo Fourth of July parade. Enjoy decorated floats, live music, and animated participants throwing candy to the excited spectators. Let’s face it, who doesn’t enjoy a good parade? Especially when walking away with fists full of candy is guaranteed. The event starts at 10 am and runs northbound from Mile Marker 95 to Mile Marker 100. It’s a great way to kick-off your Fourth of July activities and socialize with the laid-back locals. Later in the evening, head over to Blackwater Sound located at Mile Marker 104 for a stunning firework show starting at 10 pm. Claim a prime viewing spot at any of the nearby restaurants such as Sundowners, Cactus Jacks, or Señor Frijoles. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July!
